While Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) waits for a "care package" at a Charleston bookstore, Red (James Spader) simply vanishes from a country gas station. Liz (Megan Boone) calls Samar (Mozhan Marnò) in a panic, asking her to track Red's phone without telling Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), who's showering in the next room. But Ressler smells a rat, so as soon as he gets into work, he has Aram (Amir Arison) search his laptop. Realizing that Samar failed to reveal Red's location, Ressler fires her, alerting Aram to the fact his boss slept with his long-time crush. Furious, Ressler tells Reven Wright about Cooper and Samar's betrayals, then tells her a story about his father, formerly of the Detroit P.D., and his betrayal at the hands of crooked cop Tommy Markin. Ressler's father died for his principles; if Ressler compromises his, it'll be as if his dad died for nothing. Shrugging, Reven heads to Laurel Hitchin's house to ask what she knows about Solomon, who was once given State Department cover, working out of Hitchin's office. With no warning whatsoever, Hitchin whips out a gun and shoots Reven, who offers these last words: "Tommy Markin."
As Solomon and his men stalk Cooper, Tom and Karakurt, Red wakes up to find himself shackled inside a filthy RV, home of the Kings of the Highway, junkie Cash, his spooky girlfriend Jilly and henchmen Pablo and T-Bone. By the time Liz finally tracks them down, they've realized Red is worth far more than the $25,000 on his person. So Liz makes a deal: Red in exchange for the contents of the care package - which we never see. Ressler and the FBI arrive on the scene in time to see the deal go down, as Jilly releases Red, who takes off in Cash's truck. The FBI takes possession of the care package, as Ressler takes Liz into custody...
