Wyatt acts as if having to be bailed out is nothing, but Judd worries enough to take him to ranch where he grew up with grandpa Stuart Ryder, who is impressed with the knave's riding skills. Ranging on horseback, Judd learns Wyatt is frustrated by the years of fathering he missed out on. When a rattlesnake scares their horses, Judd makes a bad fall, without phone reach, but Wyatt proves a fast enough learner to save his pa's life. Owen is off to California, tracking down his estranged father Walter Strand, who is dying surround by his loving second family, formed after Owen's mother took him to New York. Meeting half-brother Robert helps making his death bed peace with Walter.
