Although escaping the car accident uninjured, Michael was taken to the police station to be tested for alcohol and drugs.

AceShowbiz - George Michael was arrested on Sunday, July 4 after he smashed his car into a shop in London, according to a report. The "Faith" hitmaker was reportedly taken into police custody after his Range Rover mounted a curb and hit the front of a photography store in Hampstead, North London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to Britain's Daily Mirror, the singer was uninjured in the crash and waited by his vehicle for officers to arrive. He was reportedly tested for alcohol and drugs at a nearby police station and was bailed until August pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard says, "Police were called at approximately 3.30am on Sunday to reports of a vehicle in collision with a building. Officers attended and a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive. He was taken to a North London police station and later bailed to return during August pending inquiries."

It is the latest in a long line of incidents stemming from the 47 year old's driving. Last year he was arrested after colliding with a truck in Berkshire, England just weeks after authorities handed back his driving license. He was banned from the road for two years in 2007 after he was twice found slumped at the wheel of his parked car in London.
