AceShowbiz - A judge has mandated that Kevin Gates must pay his ex-wife, Dreka Gates, $1 million in child and spousal support sourced from his music catalog earnings amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.
According to a TMZ report released on October 21, 2026, the Baton Rouge rapper is required to allocate funds from his music catalog profits directly to Dreka. These proceeds will be deposited into a Morgan Stanley account overseen by Robert Bracy, CFO of Kevin Gates' record label Bread Winner Alumni, with certified public accountant William Duerksen authorized to sign on the account.
From the total funds, $929,341.50 is designated to cover child and spousal support payments for Dreka. In addition, she will receive a direct payment of $150,000. Her legal team will be paid $125,000 in attorney fees, while $100,000 is allocated for her accountant. Another $103,000 has been set aside for a third-party mediator involved in the case. Meanwhile, Kevin Gates will receive a lump sum of $538,798 upfront and a monthly payment of $225,000 starting in October.
The divorce between Kevin Gates and Dreka has been notably contentious. Dreka filed court documents in October 2025 requesting over $70,000 per month for child and spousal support. She also accused Kevin Gates of ceasing payments for their children’s private school tuition and property taxes in 2021, claiming he was undermining the financial stability of their family. Dreka sought to be named the primary physical custodian of their two children, Islah, 13, and Khaza, 12.
Dreka initially filed for divorce in July 2025, citing irreconcilable differences after a decade of marriage. Kevin Gates seemingly acknowledged their separation on his 2022 track "Bad for Me." However, in legal documents, he contested that the couple was never legally married.
XXL has reached out to Kevin Gates' team for comment, but has not yet received a response.
