Kacey Musgraves’ Middle of Nowhere debuts at No. 1 on three charts, hits top 10 on seven, and scores her best sales week ever with 100,000 units.

AceShowbiz - Kacey Musgraves' new album Middle of Nowhere has made a strong impact on the Billboard charts dated May 16, securing top 10 positions across seven different rankings, including three No. 1 debuts. This sixth studio release from the singer-songwriter marks a significant achievement with its arrival on the Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales charts, all at No. 1.
In addition to these chart-topping successes, Middle of Nowhere also placed at No. 2 on both the Top Country Albums and Americana/Folk Albums charts, No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and No. 10 on the Top Streaming Albums chart.
The album opened with 100,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending May 7, marking Musgraves' best sales week to date. Notably, vinyl sales contributed over 37,000 of those units, representing her highest vinyl sales week ever.
Middle of Nowhere was announced in early March and officially released on May 1. It features collaborations with notable artists such as Gregory Alan Isakov, Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, and Billy Strings. The album was led by the single "Dry Spell," which peaked at No. 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart in March. To support the release, Musgraves' Middle of Nowhere arena tour will begin on August 21 in Chicago and continue through the end of October.
This is Musgraves' third consecutive No. 1 album on Top Album Sales, following her previous chart-toppers Deeper Well (2024) and Star-Crossed (2021).
The Top Album Sales chart also saw a busy top 10 with five additional debuts: ILLIT’s MAMIHLAPINATAPAI at No. 3, The Black Keys’ PEACHES! at No. 6, Isaiah Rashad’s It’s Been Awful at No. 7, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live) at No. 9, and Tori Amos’ In Times of Dragons at No. 10.
Meanwhile, Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide slipped to No. 2 after debuting at No. 1 the previous week. BTS’ former leader’s ARIRANG maintained its No. 4 position. Classic albums by Michael Jackson also moved up, with Thriller climbing from 7 to 5 and Number Ones rising from 12 to 8.
