AceShowbiz - The Bear is set to conclude its acclaimed run this summer with the premiere of its fifth and final season on Thursday, June 25. The Emmy Award-winning dramedy will release all eight episodes simultaneously on FX and Hulu, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
The new season picks up immediately after the shock decision of Jeremy Allen White's character Carmy, who has left the culinary world, passing the reins to Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Natalie "Sugar" (Abby Elliott). This shift places the trio at the helm of the restaurant, confronting the challenges of keeping it afloat and pursuing the prestigious goal of earning a Michelin star.
The half-hour series continues to feature strong performances from supporting cast members including Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson. Additionally, recurring appearances from Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter, and Jamie Lee Curtis enhance the story’s depth. Curtis notably confirmed the series’ conclusion in a February social media post after wrapping production.
The FX premiere night will showcase the first two episodes, followed by weekly releases of new episodes. Meanwhile, Hulu subscribers will have access to the entire final season starting June 25.
Excitingly, the creators of The Bear also released a surprise flashback episode titled "Gary," which debuted on Hulu earlier this week. This special installment, co-written by and starring Ebon Moss-Bachrach alongside Jon Bernthal, explores the backstory of Richie and his friend Mikey during a work trip to Gary, Indiana, set years before the main series timeline.
Since its debut in 2022, The Bear has garnered widespread acclaim and amassed an impressive collection of accolades, including 21 Primetime Emmy Awards such as Outstanding Comedy Series, and five Golden Globes, including Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
The series was created by Christopher Storer, who also serves as Executive Producer alongside Josh Senior, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai, and Rene Gube. Courtney Storer contributes as Culinary Producer. The production is handled by FX Productions.
