AceShowbiz - The Bear is set to conclude with its fifth and final season premiering this summer. FX confirmed that all eight episodes of the last season will debut on Hulu on June 25, 2026, while also airing on FX throughout June, July, and August.
The critically acclaimed series follows head chef Jeremy Allen White as Carmy, who shocked fans by quitting the restaurant in last season’s finale, leaving his team to manage the kitchen. The new season picks up immediately after this dramatic shift. According to the official synopsis, “The fifth and final season of The Bear picks up the morning after Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie, and Natalie ‘Sugar’ (Abby Elliott) discover that Carmy has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them.”
Facing severe challenges including financial instability, the looming threat of a sale, and a powerful storm, the new leadership team must unite for one final service. Their goal is to secure a prestigious Michelin star, but the season promises to explore deeper themes, emphasizing that what truly makes a restaurant perfect may not be the cuisine but the people behind it.
The news of the series ending had been unofficially revealed months earlier by Jamie Lee Curtis, who portrays Carmy’s mother, Donna Berzatto. In February, she posted on Instagram, “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”
Following this, Curtis confirmed to the press at the red carpet premiere of the Prime Video series Scarpetta, stating, “Everybody’s confirmed the show is ending! I don’t understand why that’s such a... unless I’m going to get a call from all the people saying, ‘You just told.’ I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t then I’ve completely blown it.”
FX had remained silent on the matter until the official announcement accompanying the surprise prequel episode released just a day prior. Fans can now prepare to say goodbye to The Bear as it concludes its compelling story about the pressures and passion behind running a restaurant.
