AceShowbiz - Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize have announced an upcoming collaborative album, set to arrive shortly after their live debut as a joint act at Coachella 2026.
The album, which appears to be self-titled, is scheduled for release on April 17, just six days following the performance of the newly formed group, Nine Inch Noize, at the Sahara Tent during the festival's weekend on April 11. The duo will return for a second Coachella show the following weekend, with expectations that both performances will feature material from the forthcoming record.
This collaboration had been anticipated, given that Boys Noize has been the opening act throughout the 2025/26 Peel It Back tour, a 63-date international run headlined by Nine Inch Nails. During this tour, the two artists frequently shared the stage for joint segments, hinting at their growing creative partnership.
On April 8, the announcement was made through social media, where the artists shared what looks to be the album's cover art—a simple orange square featuring a sticker with the words "Nine Inch Nails," alongside the word "oize" written vertically beneath the letter N, combining their names visually.
The Peel It Back tour came to an end in March with a final show in Sacramento, California. During that performance, frontman Trent Reznor addressed earlier remarks from a Tulsa, Oklahoma show that suggested Nine Inch Nails might be stepping away from touring. In a fan-recorded video, Reznor clarified his position, stating, "This is the last show of this tour and we don't have any shows booked and we don't have any plans to book any shows anytime in the future, so far."
He further emphasized, "That doesn't mean we may not tour again. We may tour again. It won't be next month, it won't be this year. I never said we were intentionally stopping, and I never meant that." This statement reassures fans that while no immediate touring plans are set, the door remains open for future performances.
Alongside Trent Reznor and Boys Noize, producer Atticus Ross has also been a key contributor throughout the band's activities, including their recent works and live shows.
The release of this collaborative album marks a significant moment for fans of both artists, combining the industrial rock intensity of Nine Inch Nails with the pioneering techno sound of Boys Noize. Their joint Coachella appearances will provide the first opportunity for live audiences to experience this new material, setting the stage for what could be a defining project for both acts in 2026.
As anticipation builds, music enthusiasts and festival-goers alike are eager to see how this partnership will expand boundaries and influence the electronic and rock music scenes in the coming months.
