AceShowbiz - Nas is making a significant leap into the horror genre by partnering with acclaimed director Eli Roth. Through a new investment deal, Nas’s entertainment company, Mass Appeal, is collaborating with Roth’s production company, The Horror Section, to develop a slate of horror films and television projects.
Their first joint project will be the upcoming horror movie Ice Cream Man, where Nas and Mass Appeal CEO Peter Bittenbender will serve as executive producers. The film’s storyline centers on a summer town descending into chaos after an ice cream vendor begins offering children far more sinister treats than frozen desserts.
Eli Roth founded The Horror Section in March 2025, aiming to create a dedicated platform for horror content. This partnership with Nas and Mass Appeal marks a major expansion of Roth’s ambitions within the genre. According to Variety, Roth expressed that he and Nas connected quickly due to their mutual appreciation for horror and cultural storytelling.
"Nas is one of the most influential storytellers and cultural voices of all time," Roth remarked, highlighting his excitement to collaborate with Mass Appeal’s team to bring Ice Cream Man to audiences worldwide. Roth envisions this project as not just a film release but a "cultural event in the horror space."
The Horror Section already has another film, Stiletto by director Samuel Gonzalez Jr., in its pipeline, demonstrating the company’s commitment to building a diverse horror portfolio. This strategic move also positions Nas as a growing force beyond music, expanding his influence into film and television production.
Mass Appeal has recently found success with projects like the Legend Has It... documentary series, which celebrated iconic Hip-Hop artists such as Slick Rick, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep, Big L, and De La Soul. Following that, Nas teamed up with DJ Premier for their collaborative album Light-Years, and now he is shifting focus toward producing genre content alongside established industry creators like Eli Roth.
