Fat Joe's ex-hypeman drops major lawsuit claims, removing underage sex & RICO allegations. Legal battle shifts dramatically.

AceShowbiz - Fat Joe has seen a significant shift in the legal battle involving his former hypeman, Terrance "T.A." Dixon, who recently amended his lawsuit against the rapper. The updated complaint, filed on March 26, 2026, notably removes the most serious allegations that had originally accused Fat Joe of engaging in sexual acts with underage girls as well as claims under the Federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
Last year, Dixon initiated a lawsuit against Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph Cartagena, containing a wide array of accusations, including sex trafficking, fraud, racketeering, and most shockingly, allegations that the rapper had "personally witnessed" sexual relations with two girls aged 15 and 16. These claims were immediately denied by Fat Joe, who labeled them as part of an extortion scheme designed to force a settlement.
In the revised filing, all references to underage sexual misconduct and RICO violations have been omitted. The reasons behind this significant change remain unclear, as Dixon’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, has not responded to requests for comment regarding the removal of these allegations.
This development is a critical pivot in the case, as it eliminates the most damaging claims that could have potentially resulted in criminal consequences for Fat Joe if proven true. The rapper has consistently maintained that the accusations were fabricated threats aimed at coercing him into a financial payout. In fact, Fat Joe filed his own lawsuit months prior to Dixon’s, alleging that Dixon had threatened to sue over "grotesque" and false allegations, including "unspeakable acts such as pedophilia," unless compensated.
Despite dropping the most severe accusations, the new lawsuit still contains serious claims. Dixon alleges that Fat Joe violated the Trafficking Victims Protection Act by coercing him into working for the rapper and participating in non-consensual sexual encounters. Additionally, the lawsuit focuses heavily on business-related disputes, specifically accusations that Dixon was not properly compensated for wages and was not credited as a co-writer on certain songs.
In a statement provided to Billboard, Fat Joe’s attorney, Jordan Siev, reiterated that the accusations were baseless and merely an attempt to extort money from the rapper. Siev said, "Their decision to now voluntarily amend Mr. Dixon's complaint - removing all allegations involving transporting of minors, statutory rape and RICO - and recast this matter primarily as a financial dispute about royalties and wages allegedly owed only reinforces that the allegations were baseless and that Mr. Cartagena is the one being targeted."
Meanwhile, the legal battle continues on multiple fronts. Fat Joe’s separate lawsuit against Dixon is progressing, as a federal judge recently refused to dismiss claims that Dixon and Blackburn defamed the rapper by publicly making these allegations. This ruling means that the defamation claims will proceed to trial. Dixon and his attorney are currently attempting to appeal this judicial decision.
This ongoing legal saga highlights the complex intersection of criminal and civil law issues, with serious allegations now largely reframed as financial and contractual disputes. The removal of the most egregious claims from Dixon’s lawsuit marks a major development in the case, but both parties remain engaged in vigorous litigation as it moves forward.
The outcome of these proceedings will likely have significant implications for both men, especially as the court navigates the balance between protecting reputations and addressing potential contractual and trafficking violations. For now, the focus remains on the financial and employment-related issues at the heart of the amended complaint, with the most sensational claims no longer part of the legal narrative.
