AceShowbiz - The K-pop sensation Blackpink has officially returned with their latest mini album, Deadline, marking the group’s first official release in over three years. This new project consists of five tracks, including the lead single "Jump," and represents the third mini album in the group’s discography.
Alongside the album drop, Blackpink unveiled a dynamic music video for the anthemic, EDM-infused track "Go," one of the standout songs on Deadline. Fans can now experience the full album, which continues to showcase the group’s evolving sound and vibrant energy.
Blackpink first announced Deadline in January, sharing its title with their recent world tour. This mini album follows their previous releases, 2018’s Square Up and 2019’s Kill This Love. Their latest full-length album, Born Pink, was released in 2022 and saw the group solidify their global presence.
Before the mini album’s release, the group teased fans with the comeback single "Jump" in July. The track was crafted by a talented team of songwriters including TEDDY, Diplo, 24, Zikai, Claudia Valentina, Jumpa, Malachiii, and Jesse Bluu. Production credits go to Diplo, 24, Boaz Van De Beatz, Zecca, and Ape Drums, blending diverse influences into a fresh sound.
Since Born Pink, the members of Blackpink have pursued solo ventures. Rosé launched her solo LP Rosie, featuring the hit collaboration "Apt" with Bruno Mars. Lisa followed with her solo album Alter Ego last year and appeared in the latest season of The White Lotus, filmed in Thailand. Jennie released her debut solo project Ruby, and Jisoo unveiled her EP Amortage, highlighting their individual artistry.
After dedicating time to their solo careers, Blackpink reunited last year for the Deadline World Tour. The tour began at Seoul’s Goyang Stadium and concluded in Hong Kong in January. Notably, in August, Blackpink became the first K-pop girl group to headline Wembley Stadium, where they honored the Spice Girls by performing the 1996 hit "Wannabe."
YG Entertainment, the group’s label, emphasized the hard work behind Deadline: "Even amid the intense schedule of a large-scale world tour, the members devoted significant time and effort to perfecting this album." The statement added confidence that the album captures both the individual talents of the four members and their collective synergy, inviting fans to support Blackpink as they continue to make a significant impact on the global music scene.
