AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen is embracing a renewed commitment to sobriety. The renowned judge from *Star Search* initially quit drinking in 2021 but revealed last year that she had allowed alcohol to return to her life. Recently, on January 27, she shared that it has now been 52 days since her last drink.
In an honest Instagram post, Chrissy Teigen, who shares four children with her husband, John Legend, reflected on her journey. “After being sober for a little over a year, I went back to drinking,” she confessed. “I promised myself it would be in a 'mindful' way. I wanted to enjoy a glass of wine during a date night with my husband or toast at celebrations.”
However, the 40-year-old quickly recognized that this approach was fraught with challenges. What began as a single drink during dinner escalated rapidly. “What started at 6 PM turned to 5, then 4, and before I knew it, I was drinking at lunch,” she recalled. “When it hit 11 AM, I thought, oh f--k, here we go again. And god, I felt like s--t.”
Her turning point came when she was in talks to join *Star Search*, which recently premiered. “If I were given the incredible chance to be on the show, there was absolutely no f--king way I’d do it with alcohol in my dressing room,” she asserted.
Reflecting on her renewed commitment to sobriety, Chrissy noted that this time feels different. “The biggest difference between now and the first time is that there’s no pomp around it,” she explained. “The first time I put my foot down, it was EXCITING. The momentum was fun and kept me on the right track. The second time… I dunno.”
She likened her relationship with alcohol to “an old boyfriend you talked so much s--t about.” Chrissy Teigen added, “I dunno if everyone around you kind of loses faith or if you do yourself, or a mix of both.”
Despite the past struggles, the former host of *Lip Sync Battle* emphasized her current resolve. “I now have no desire to turn back,” she stated firmly. “Turns out, without it, I can still be funny. Still be stupid. Still be wildly nervous. Anxious as a motherf--ker. And I can get through it all without it.”
On a recent episode of her podcast, *Self-Conscious*, Chrissy expressed her willingness to discuss the complexities of her sobriety journey. “Nothing makes me prouder than someone sharing their story of sobriety and truly seeing the different look in their eyes,” she told guest Carl Radke, who has also been candid about his own battles with addiction. “It's beautiful. It's contagious.”

Jason Biggs, for example, announced in October 2018 that he had completed one year of sobriety through an uplifting Instagram post. “I first tried to get sober over 5 years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle,” he shared. “Turns out this s--t is hard.” He continued, “After some fits and starts, I’ve...”
