AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's family just got a little bigger with the addition of a new pup. The couple introduced their newly-adopted pet, Dudley, on March 23, to mark National Puppy Day.

Dudley's journey to becoming a part of their family began earlier this year. In mid-January, Wags & Walks rescue brought Dudley in, just after the Los Angeles wildfires, and he was struggling with severe pneumonia.

Teigen and Legend were instantly moved when they first met him. "When we first met Dudley, he was fighting for his life. Thirteen days in the hospital, endless love from his foster family and an incredible recovery later - he's officially home," they shared in the post's caption.

Dudley has not only found a place in Teigen and Legend's hearts but also among their children. In some of the pictures in their adoption video, Dudley is cuddled by their two eldest kids, daughter Luna, 8, and son Miles, 6.

Their family also includes daughter Esti, born in January 2023, and son Wren, born via surrogate in June of the same year.

In a bittersweet prelude to Dudley's arrival, the family mourned the loss of their beloved three-legged French bulldog, Penny, in January.

Teigen shared this emotional moment on social media, noting that Penny had been with them for 11 years. "Never forget that while every pup is just a few chapters in your long life, for them you are their entire book, their entire lives," she wrote in a touching tribute.

While announcing Dudley's adoption, Teigen and Legend acknowledged the loss of Penny, affectionately calling her their "tripod queen." "Nothing can replace the dogs we've loved before, but sometimes, the universe sends us the reminder that we need to open our hearts again," they wrote in the caption.

Lesley Brog, founder of Wags & Walks, praised Dudley's journey into the celebrity couple's hearts, calling it "a true testament to the power of rescue."

Brog added, "Seeing him go from fighting for every breath in the ICU to now being cherished by Chrissy, John, and their family is nothing short of incredible.
