AceShowbiz - British actress Aimee Lou Wood, known for her role in HBO's "The White Lotus", was visibly emotional as she stepped out in London on Monday, April 14. The actress burst into tears as she met Ralph Davis, her co-star on new sitcom "Film Club".
The actor looked concerned as the two hugged and she cried on his shoulder. The duo took a casual stroll and later enjoyed meal in an outdoor cafe. Seemingly feeling better after laying bare her emotion, she flashed a smile as they chatted in between drink and vape.
This marked Wood's first public appearance since "Saturday Night Live" parodied her character on a skit titled "The White Potus". While she found the impersonation "mean", her co-star and on-screen love interest Walton Goggins praised the show. He described it as "smashing" and additionally wrote, "Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg."
This contrasting opinions only added fuel to the ongoing rumors of feud between the two. "aimee lou wood follows 5,160 people on instagram and none of them are walton goggins…," one fan wrote on X. Another added, "Walton Goggins not tagging Aimee but tagging everyone else… WHAT HAPPENED."
Meanwhile, Wood clarified her "SNL" criticism. While she slammed the parody, she didn't blame Sarah Sherman, the comedian who impersonated her in the skit. In a follow-up message on Instagram Story, she claimed the whole debacle was "not @sarahsquirm 's fault." She added, "Not hating on her, hating on the concept."
She also insisted she's not overly sensitive, "I actually love being taken the piss out of when it's clever and in good spirits." She further explained why she was not impressed by the skit, "The joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth.
Wood further elaborated on her perspective, "I don't mind caricature - I understand that's what SNL is." She felt like she was unfairly targeted compared to others depicted in the skit, "The rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on."
"SNL" has since privately reached out to the actress to apologize and she got support from fellow stars like Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger, and Jameela Jamil.
"@aimeelouwood YOU ARE STUNNING PERIOD," Delevingne gushed on her Story. Jagger re-shared the model's post and chimed in, "Agreed! @aimeelouwood is gorgeous."
Meanwhile, Jamil gushed about Wood, "Our next Olivia Colman. Hilarious, deep, vulnerable, and relentlessly lovable." She added, "I also think she's so f***king beautiful and love her face so much and wouldn't want her to look any different."
