AceShowbiz - Rachel Zegler celebrated the release of her Disney movie "Snow White" by sharing a touching tribute on Instagram. However, her co-star Gal Gadot, who played the Evil Queen, was missing from her pictures, adding fuel to feud rumors.
"We had the greatest crew in the world on this movie," Zegler wrote, reflecting on the four-year journey of bringing the iconic story to life, while sharing behind-the-scenes photos with cast and crew members. Despite her extensive praise for the team, Gadot was notably left out.
Zegler, 23, described the project as "a huge chunk of my heart," adding, "I hope you enjoy and feel the magic we were lucky enough to live each day. And remember, you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine."
Recalling the transformative period from ages 20 to 23, she spoke of "growing up," learning "hard lessons," and "falling in love" with her colleagues during the film's London-based production.
The absence of Gadot in Zegler's posts comes amid ongoing speculation of tension between the actresses, stemming from contrasting political views and a significant age gap.
Zegler, an advocate for Palestine, and Gadot, a vocal supporter of Israel, reportedly clashed on set due to their differing stances. "They did a job together and that's it," a source informed PEOPLE, further emphasizing that the actresses "have nothing in common."
Zegler's outspoken nature and the modern reinterpretation of "Snow White" have also been points of contention. Her comments on the original 1937 animated film as "dated" and the new film's focus on a more independent, empowered Snow White did not sit well with Gadot.
Sources revealed, "Gal's attitude is that you don't criticize and cause drama for a project you signed on to do."
While Zegler might not find support in Gadot, other big stars outside the movie like, Ariana Grande, Jameela Jamil, Helen Mirren, and Lucy Liu have become pillars in Zegler's career journey.
"She reached out to me - kind of apropos of nothing - and was like, 'If you need anything, I am here,' " Zegler said of Grande. "She is so deeply kind. She has gone through so much in the public eye, and I have always really, really admired her courage in the face of all of that."
Zegler was also praised by her onscreen love interest Andrew Burnap who said, "I had an absolute blast working on that. I think Rachel is truly a once-in-a-generation talent, and I hope people will be as moved by what she did as I was."
He furthermore supported her comments about the modern take of the classic tale, "It's a new story in the sense that it's no longer a princess waiting to be saved by a prince, but a princess waiting to be saved by herself and finding her voice, her strength, and her courage and actually, in the end, saving everyone around her."
For now, "Snow White" continues to play in theaters while fans remain captivated by the drama both on and off the screen.
