She was airlifted to a trauma hospital and underwent an emergency craniotomy.

Ban's son, Sebastian, honored her legacy by sharing family photos and conveying how much she meant to him and those who knew her. "She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know," he wrote.
