On Christmas Eve, Ban experienced a traumatic fall while skiing, initially believing it to be minor. Although ski patrol cleared her for a concussion, a persistent headache led a paramedic to suggest a hospital visit. There, doctors discovered a brain bleed. She was airlifted to a trauma hospital and underwent an emergency craniotomy.

Ban's son, Sebastian, honored her legacy by sharing family photos and conveying how much she meant to him and those who knew her. "She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know," he wrote.

Notable figures like Rihanna and Kali Uchis expressed grief and condolences under Sebastian's post, underscoring the profound impact Lynn Ban had on her friends and collaborators.

The Singaporean native was a force in the fashion industry, known for her distinctive designs that mixed precious stones with oxidized metals. Her pieces were featured in high-profile fashion publications like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and W Magazine. One of Ban's most memorable creations includes the claw armor ring for Rihanna's photoshoot.

"This is too much!!! Lynn you will always be our fairy godmother!" Rihanna wrote.
