Kent explained that Ocean experienced trauma to the roots of her front teeth due to a bicycle accident. The toddler is under regular dental checkups, but the teeth may eventually require a root canal or extraction. Kent stated, "We are from Utah, honey! We are teeth people!" emphasizing the importance of dental health in her family.
Kent admitted to being the "mom who usually edits this" and encouraged trolls to "go ahead and judge her." She added, "Ocean thinks they are 'cool,' " while acknowledging that the discoloration is a result of the accident.
Kent is not the only celebrity to face criticism for altering children's appearances in photos. Kate Middleton, for instance, was questioned for Photoshopping her Mother's Day photo.
Despite the backlash, Kent remains unapologetic for her decision to edit Ocean's teeth. She believes it is in her daughter's best interest to present a positive and healthy image.
