AceShowbiz - My Chemical Romance needs time to process shocking news of its former drummer Bob Bryar's death. The band has asked for people's "patience and understanding" in the wake of the sound engineer's passing.
A spokesperson for the emo-punk band confirmed Bryar's death in a statement to Rolling Stone on Saturday, November 30. While the group has yet to post publicly about the drummer's death, the spokesperson said, "The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob's passing."
TMZ was the first to break the news of Bryar's death. On Friday, November 29, the outlet reported that the musician was found dead in his Tennessee home on Tuesday, November 26. He was last being seen alive on November 4.
Animal Control came to the house after the body, which was allegedly badly decomposed, was discovered and took two dogs away. The medical examiner is currently investigating the cause and manner of Bryar's death, but there is no foul play suspected because all of Bryar's weapons and music equipment in the home were left untouched.
Ironically, in one of his last social media updates, Bryar paid tribute to the late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote on November 4, "emily armstrong is destroying, shredding faces and making chester proud. she was the perfect choice. AND she had to deal with the initial hate. that s**t is hard. trust me. word up."
Bryar was the longest-tenured drummer of My Chemical Romance. He played in the band from 2004 until his departure in 2010, ahead of the release of the group's 2010 entry "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys", for which he wrote several songs. He also contributed to the band's blockbuster 2006 album "The Black Parade".
Following his departure from My Chemical Romance, Bryar worked with other bands over the next few years, before announcing his transition from the music industry to real estate. His career aside, he was an active supporter of dog rescue charities and sanctuaries.
