AceShowbiz - Alfonso Ribeiro nearly did break a leg during one of his latest dancing gigs. The "Dancing with the Stars" co-host injured his ankle while filming an ABC holiday special at Disney World over the weekend.
On Sunday, November 10, the actor/comedian was filming a dance number with his "DWTS" co-host Julianne Hough at the Florida theme park when he stepped on one of the trolley rails and rolled his ankle. In a video taken in the aftermath of the misstep and obtained by TMZ, Alfonso was leaning heavily on Julianne, seemingly afraid to put his weight on the ankle.
Julianne looked concerned while assisting Alfonso to sit on a chair that was brought to the street by a production team member. He tried to roll out his ankle, but he seemed to be in a ton of pain as the clip ends.
Alfonso was eventually moved to a wheelchair and the audience gave him a huge round of applause despite the injury. He apparently wasn't feeling so well after the injury as he reportedly threw up in a trashcan on the side of the street.
Sources with direct knowledge have since confirmed that Alfonso suffered an ankle injury, but it was minor. He is reportedly okay and is returning to production to finish the special on the same day.
Alfonso's injury also won't affect his "DWTS" co-hosting gig. He is still expected to participate in the filming of the 500th episode of the ABC dancing competition series which will air live on Tuesday, November 12.
Prior to the injury, Alfonso appeared to be in good condition. In a fan-taken video, he was seen rehearsing a dance number with Julianne, who was dressed in a gold outfit with a fringe skirt, a pair of heeled boots and a top hat in matching color. Alfonso, meanwhile, dressed casually in a blue T-shirt and khaki pants before he changed into a white long-sleeve shirt, gold vest and matching pants for the actual filming.
