The co-host of the long-running dancing competition show stuns viewers with his significant weight loss after revealing that he has shed 20 pounds before the show's return.

AceShowbiz - Alfonso Ribeiro is back on the dance floor for season 33 of "Dancing with the Stars", and he's showing off a new, slimmer look. The 52-year-old entertainer, who is co-hosting the show with Julianne Hough, has opened up about his recent weight loss journey.

Ribeiro revealed that he lost 20 pounds in anticipation of the show's demanding dance routines. "It's gonna be great and the dancing will be better than ever," he said. "And I've lost 20 pounds, so now I'm like, 'Oh, I think I might look a little better when they ask me to do some of the little dances in the opening numbers.' "

Ribeiro attributed his weight loss to a lifestyle change eight years ago, sparked by a health issue with his son. "We live a completely non-toxic life where we don't eat any sugar, gluten-free, corn-free, dairy-free, oats-free, anything that makes you swollen, we typically stay away from," he explained.

The "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" alum also credited his wife Angela Unkrich for inspiring his healthy eating habits. Unkrich has been vocal about her passion for healthy eating on Instagram.

Ribeiro's weight loss journey is not just about aesthetics but also about improving his overall well-being. "I live a virtually pain-free life because nothing's swollen, right?" he said. "It so crazy, like, we will all put 'super unleaded' in our cars but we'll put below 'regular' in our bodies, right?"

In addition to hosting "Dancing with the Stars", Ribeiro will also be returning to host the 35th season of "America's Funniest Home Videos". He admitted that juggling both shows is a lot of work, but he's excited for both opportunities. "They are two shows that I absolutely adore and love, and couldn't be more proud to be a part of," he said.
