AceShowbiz - Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend has spoken up on the negative impact of his relationship with Taylor Swift on her life. Kayla Nicole, who was in a longtime relationship with the NFL star until their breakup in 2022, said she still receives backlash from Swifties, more than a year after the pair's romance began.
Kayla sat down with Angel Reese in a new episode of "Unapologetically Angel" which was released on Thursday, October 10. On the show, the Internet personality talked about the aftermath of her split from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
"I think the combination of everything is the perfect storm to make you want to disappear from the world entirely," she said. "Behind closed doors, the hardest part is losing a partner, a best friend, speaking every day to cutting ties. Then you throw in social media."
When asked if the harassment from Taylor's fanbase bothered her, Kayla said, "I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just, like, online chaos didn't impact me -- it does. Even to this day." She added, "You can go to my most recent [social media] post and it will be people debating each other why I am worthless and I'll never be a talented person and I have no career ..."
Angel then asked Kayla why Swifties seemed to dislike her so much, especially since she handled the breakup with such grace. "It is nothing to do with me. I don't know," Kayla answered. "I think that there's something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people and it's unfortunate because I've never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash."
Kayla also addressed the rumors that "cheap" Travis' stinginess led to their split. "Do I look like anybody that would split anything?" she responded. "No - this is the question. Do I look like I would go 50/50 on bills?" she went on asking Angel, who replied, "No." Kayla then stated, "OK so yeah - that was ridiculous."
Kayla also discussed if she and Travis would be cool with each other if they ever crossed paths. "I'd probably like hit him with a head nod," she said. "That's about it." She went on elaborating, "We've seen each other in public spaces but we are both aware of the nature of his situation that there's just no room for us to communicate or acknowledge each other publicly. So we'd just keep it moving."
