AceShowbiz - Ice-T apparently isn't eager to learn about the new gender-neutral pronouns. The rapper/actor made use of his X account to share that he had found his own way of calling people's names without having to learn about the new pronouns.
"This new Pronoun thing is too confusing for me…," so the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star wrote on the app, formerly known as Twitter. He added, "I'm just gonna keep calling everybody MF.."
Fans had mixed responses to Ice-T's hilarious tweet. One wrote, "Fans MF is the universal pronoun! Everyone needs to listen to Ice T. The brother always gives minimalist advice that feeds your head! That's the genius of OG's straight to the point, so you are crystal clear on where you stand with them."
Co-signing Ice-T, someone added, "that fits everyone so it's ok." Another said, "I call everyone, dude. My Mom, my boss, my friends, my cat. Everyone is dude."
"The way I just busted out laughing that sounds very safe, very smart and very neutral," an amused fan commented. Echoing the sentiment, someone noted, "It's giving Samuel L. Jackson. I dig it."
One other replied, "Exactly. One person wants to be call them or they. Lady or man, sit your confuse by night and day ass down somewhere." One person found Ice-T's struggle relatable as the person wrote, "No , seriously . Did y'all see the new ones? Coself , ze, hirs, xe . He's not lying."
However, some people urged Ice-T to at least try to learn and embrace the new terms. "I've learned to learn. It's a lot of muscle memory, but also just asking what people prefer. It's a way to make someone safe and heard, so I can put in the (not so hard) work to change the way I refer to them. I'm not great at it, but I always, always try to remember," one said. "How are pronouns confusing??? Like where the heck were y'all in elementary language arts????!!!!!" another criticized.
