AceShowbiz - John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have credited their son Miles' type 1 diabetes diagnosis with strengthening their relationship. After discovering Miles' condition this summer, the couple acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained optimistic about navigating the situation together.
Legend stated, "As soon as I learned that he had this, I knew it was going to be life-changing for him and for us, but I'm also like, 'We can do this.' " Legend's optimistic and practical approach contrasted with Teigen's initial distress. However, she quickly embraced the need for learning and adapting. Miles' early diagnosis means he will require increased monitoring, carb counting, and insulin administration in the future.
While the diagnosis is life-changing, Legend and Teigen view it as a test of their bond and a reminder of their teamwork. "This speaks to us feeling like a team and knowing we can do this together. It just makes us stronger," Legend said.
Despite the challenges, the couple remains grateful for the support they have received. They are also prioritizing their awareness and education regarding Miles' condition.
The diagnosis has further underscored the importance of their partnership. As Teigen previously shared, "We've been through so much joy and some pain together. We've laughed together, we've cried together. I wouldn't want to go through any of this with anybody more than I'd want to go through it with you."
