John Legend joins Jay-Z's Roc Nation after 20 years, reuniting with the Roc family that launched his early career. A major music industry shift.

AceShowbiz - John Legend has officially aligned himself with Roc Nation, the influential management company led by Jay-Z, marking a significant change after nearly twenty years with his previous team.
The acclaimed R&B artist recently ended his longstanding relationship with manager Ty Stiklorius and her company Friends at Work, transitioning his music representation to Roc Nation under the direction of Jay Brown. This shift reconnects Legend to the Roc family, a network he has been closely linked with since his early career days.
Although Legend never formally signed with Roc-A-Fella Records in the 2000s, his history with the Roc ecosystem runs deep. He was the first artist to sign with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint, which operated under the Roc umbrella, and West’s mentorship played a key role in establishing Legend as a producer and songwriter before his solo breakthrough.
After amassing a career that boasts 13 Grammy Awards and hits such as “All of Me,” along with collaborations with artists like Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande, Legend is now officially part of the full Roc Nation roster.
Ty Stiklorius issued a statement expressing pride in their shared achievements, highlighting a foundation of creativity and trust. She added that she will remain involved with Legend in various business pursuits, although the music management responsibilities have now been handed over to Jay Brown at Roc Nation.
This move places Legend among Roc Nation’s high-profile artists including A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Uzi Vert, and Clipse. Industry reports indicate the transition occurred recently, with Legend still appearing on Friends at Work’s roster as late as last month.
The timing coincides with Legend currently touring on his “A Night of Songs & Stories Tour,” which began in mid-March and is scheduled to continue through May 17.
