Sparks fly on 'The View' as the co-hosts, Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin, passionately debate Clooney's call for President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race.

AceShowbiz - "The View" co-hosts expressed strong opinions on Thursday's (July 11) show regarding George Clooney's New York Times op-ed calling for President Biden to step down. Host Joy Behar led the criticism, accusing Clooney of being insensitive by writing an op-ed rather than expressing his concerns directly to Biden.
She also dismissed the actor's age-related concerns, citing the president's economic track record. "I'm mad at George Clooney right now, even though we dated," Behar joked, admitting that she wished she had.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin defended Clooney's op-ed, emphasizing that it reflected the concerns of many Democrats who believe Biden is not up to the task of defeating Donald Trump. She dismissed the notion that Biden's feelings should be prioritized over the country's well-being. "Joe Biden's feelings don't matter more than our country," Griffin said.
Sunny Hostin, the show's legal expert, agreed with Behar that Clooney should have kept his concerns private, arguing that they should be discussed with Biden directly rather than aired publicly.
Amid the debate, former President Donald Trump attacked Clooney on Truth Social, calling him a "fake movie actor" who has never made a great movie and accusing him of echoing the "Democrat 'talking point' " that Biden has "saved our Democracy."
Despite the controversy, Biden has repeatedly stated that he has no intention of dropping out of the race.
