The 'From Dusk till Dawn' actress sings praise for the 'Maleficent' star and her 18-year-old daughter for their success with 'The Outsiders' at the 2024 Tony Awards.

AceShowbiz - Salma Hayek has expressed her admiration for Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne after they won big at the 77th Tony Awards. On Monday, June 17, the "Frida" actress shared an Instagram tribute to Jolie, 49, and Vivienne, 15, for their roles as producers in "The Outsiders", which won Best Musical at the ceremony.
"There are some rare humans we already know are brilliant, but it's hard to grasp to what degree," Hayek wrote. "My dear Angie, you don't cease to impress and inspire me, especially because I know that everything you do comes from a place of love."
Hayek commended Vivienne, saying, "And Vivienne, you are a genius! Congratulations on your well-deserved Tony for 'The Outsiders', which was named best musical and picked up three other awards after receiving a total of 12 nominations!"
During the awards ceremony, Angelina stood proudly alongside Vivienne as producer Matthew Rego accepted the award for Best Musical. The mother-daughter duo wore matching blue outfits, with Vivienne sporting a teal suit that matched her mother's Atelier Versace gown.
Angelina had been involved with the project since seeing the production with Vivienne in 2023. She explained that her daughter reminded her of her own mother, Marcheline Bertrand, in her dedication to supporting other creatives.
"The Outsiders" also won Tony Awards for Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design in a Musical. The play is based on S.E. Hinton's 1967 novel, which was previously adapted for the big screen by Francis Ford Coppola in 1983.
