The multi-hyphenate confirms that her production company Nuyorican Productions has partnered with Netflix to develop a series adaptation of Emily Henry's popular young adult novel 'Happy Place'.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez is expanding her presence on the small screen with a new and exciting project. On June 25, the multi-talented actress confirmed that her production company, Nuyorican Productions, will be adapting Emily Henry's popular young adult novel "Happy Place" into a series for Netflix.

Lopez took to Instagram Stories to share her enthusiasm, posting a screenshot of the news with a sticker that read "Can't wait!" Her producing partner, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, echoed the excitement, captioning the screenshot with, "WE CANNOT WAIT TO WORK WITH @emilyhenrywrites on her brilliant amazing novel #happyplace!!!!"

The 2023 novel "Happy Place" centers on Harriet and Wyn, a couple who has been inseparable since college but find themselves navigating the complexities of a break-up. Despite ending their relationship five months prior, they haven't informed their best friends and continue to pretend they're still together. The story unfolds when they share a bedroom at their friend group's annual getaway in a Maine cottage, leading to unexpected revelations about their feelings for each other.

Nuyorican Productions, founded in 2001 by Lopez and her former manager Benny Medina, has steadily built a reputation for creating impactful content. Although Medina parted ways with Lopez shortly after the company's inception, Lopez stayed on as Principal, with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas stepping in as President. The company signed a multi-year first-look deal with Netflix in June 2021 to develop feature films, television series, and both scripted and unscripted content, focusing on projects that support diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.

Lopez's latest film under this deal, "Atlas", has already garnered global success since its release on May 24. It tells the story of Atlas, a data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, who must confront her fears to save humanity. On June 5, Lopez celebrated the film's success in her "On The JLo" newsletter, writing, "I found out some great news and it’s all because of YOU!! ATLAS is #1 worldwide again this week!!! Thank you all so much!!!"

Looking ahead, Lopez is also gearing up for her role in "Unstoppable", another highly anticipated project developed in collaboration with her husband Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production company, Artists Equity. Despite her packed schedule, Lopez has emphasized the importance of balancing work and family, canceling her "This Is Me ... Live" tour on May 31 to spend more time with her loved ones. Nevertheless, she made a fashionable appearance at the Christian Dior haute couture show during Paris Fashion Week on June 24.

With the adaptation of "Happy Place" on the horizon, Jennifer Lopez continues to showcase her dynamic range and commitment to bringing diverse, engaging stories to the screen. Fans of the novel and Lopez alike can eagerly anticipate the series that promises to capture the essence of Emily Henry's heartfelt storytelling.
