Following a series of controversy and legal woes, Morgan Wallen is facing hurdles with his new Nashville bar and has decided to hold off the opening this coming Memorial Day weekend.

AceShowbiz - The grand opening of Morgan Wallen's bar and restaurant in downtown Nashville, This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, was slated for Memorial Day weekend, but those plans have been unexpectedly scrapped. Officially located at 107 4th Ave. N., the six-story venue was built in collaboration with TC Restaurant Group, the same organization behind celebrity bars from Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Jason Aldean.
Representatives from TC Restaurant Group issued a statement through Billboard, expressing their commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for guests.
They emphasized the complexity and immense effort involved in launching such a large-scale establishment, stating, "We're proud of our team who has worked tirelessly to prepare Morgan Wallen's This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen for opening. The ground-up construction of a six-story venue launching with hundreds of team members is a tremendous amount of work and a complex process."
The statement continued, "When we open, we want This Bar to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process requires more time, and we are not able to open and provide that experience this Memorial Day weekend. Rest assured it will be well worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming guests soon."
According to sources, the delayed opening stems from pending final inspections, although there are rumors about issues regarding the catering license. Scoop Nashville reported that the Nashville Beer Board rejected both a catering permit and a temporary permit due to Fire & Codes not issuing necessary approvals. However, the TC Restaurant Group did not confirm these details.
Additionally, the venue faced a setback when the Nashville Metro Council denied approval for a proposed 20-foot external sign that would have encroached on the sidewalk. On May 21, thirty council members voted against the sign, with only three in favor and four abstaining. Some members cited Wallen's previous controversies, including his use of a racial slur in January 2021 and a recent arrest for allegedly throwing a chair off another bar's roof, as reasons behind their opposition.
The official Instagram account for This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen initially announced the opening during one of Wallen's sold-out shows at Nissan Stadium. However, the account now only features a post with a video of downtown Nashville, stating, "Coming Summer 2024."
