In a new interview, the disgraced dance coach believes her absence from Lifetime's 'Dance Moms: The Reunion' stems from her former students being unable to face her.

AceShowbiz - During an interview on "Just B with Bethenny Frankel", Abby Lee Miller claimed, "I think the kids can't face me because they know they would never be where they are today if it wasn't for the show."

Miller, who presided over the contentious reality series for eight seasons, questioned why her former students returned to her studio if it was such a "toxic" environment. She also expressed frustration that Lifetime portrayed her as a "down and out" teacher who screamed at her students for good ratings.

Miller acknowledged some positive moments during the show's run, stating, "There were good times, and it was fun. And they loved what they were doing." However, she feels the show ultimately damaged her business and her reputation.

Despite Miller's claims, several former contestants have spoken out about negative experiences they endured while working with her. Maddie Ziegler described the studio as a "toxic environment," while Chloe Lukasiak felt like she wasn't good enough.

However, Miller's former students have also forged lasting bonds despite the show's drama. Kalani Hilliker admitted that they share a "trauma bond," while JoJo Siwa echoed this sentiment, describing it as a "familiarity."

Some cast members reportedly requested Miller's absence at the reunion, with a source stating that they didn't want to relive past trauma. However, Miller emphasized her accomplishments with her students, including sending 25 dancers to Broadway shows.

"Dance Moms: The Reunion" featured Brooke and Paige Hyland, JoJo Siwa, Lukasiak, Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker, but Nia Sioux and the Ziegler sisters declined to participate.
