AceShowbiz - Kyle Richards, 55, and Mauricio Umansky, 53, have sparked speculation regarding their marriage after news of their separation emerged during a family trip to Aspen. On season two of "Buying Beverly Hills", the couple has since addressed the situation with their four daughters: Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, Portia, 16, and Farrah, 35.

During a conversation while preparing dinner together, Richards initiated the discussion, acknowledging the sudden nature of the news and apologizing to her daughters for not giving them enough advance notice. "I'm just used to it," she explained.

"Because coming out of the blue what happened, it kind of blindsided all of us. I know it was a lot," she said. "I really am sorry about that because it's not fair to you guys."

Sophia expressed her concern about the widespread social media coverage, stating, "This time was different because everyone was reaching out. My phone was blowing up with people reaching out. I opened instagram and it was everywhere. It was definitely hard feeling like maybe I don't know the whole story."

Richards admitted to having a difficult year with Umansky, adding, "We have had a hard year. It is work." She emphasized the challenges of finding a balance between being honest with her children and maintaining privacy. "Some stuff's private between [Mauricio and I]. It just is. So I’m sorry if you feel like I haven’t shared enough, but that's why."
