The streamer announces the thrilling news about the fan-favorite dark, satirical anthology series at the Next on Netflix event at the Picturehouse Central cinema and cultural space in London.

AceShowbiz - It's exciting news for fans of "Black Mirror". The fan-favorite dark, satirical anthology series from Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones is set to return to Netflix for season 7 in 2025, the streaming giant announced on Thursday, March 14.

The streamer made the revelation at the Next on Netflix event at the Picturehouse Central cinema and cultural space in London. It also announced that the upcoming six-part season would include a sequel to the season 4 sci-fi adventure "USS Callister".

In a new teaser, fans can see the familiar "Black Mirror" loading page along with six symbols. One of the symbols matches the insignia of the Callister spaceship. "Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning," the streamer added.

Fans immediately shared their excitement upon learning of the news. "Wait… A sequel to USS Callister???" one of them wrote on Netflix's post. "USS CALLISTER 2 !!!!!!" one other said, with someone else echoing the sentiment, "USS CALLISTER!!!!!! So excited for this one!" Some others, meanwhile, were baffled to find out that the show will only arrive in 2025 as one commented, "2025? WTF."

"USS Callister" originally aired as the first episode of "Black Mirror" season 4. Penned by Charlie Brooker and directed by Todd Haynes, it followed Daly, portrayed by Jesse Plemons, a reclusive programmer who co-founded a popular massively multiplayer online game. Using his co-workers' DNA to create digital clones of them, he created a "Star Trek"-like space adventure within the game. He led them as the captain of the USS Callister starship until newly hired Nanette Cole, played by Cristin Milioti, encouraged the other crew members to take control of the spaceship.

It's unknown if Milioti and other cast members will reprise their roles on the upcoming series, but Netflix has confirmed that Brooker will create the new installment of "Black Mirror" series. He will also executive produce along with Jones and Jessica Rhoades.
