AceShowbiz - Get ready, Montreal! The highly anticipated Black Mirror immersive event, The Black Mirror Experience, is set to premiere this May at Infinity Experiences, a location-based virtual reality (VR) venue in the Canadian city.

This innovative 60-minute experience uniquely merges physical space with VR technology, offering fans a fresh way to engage with the acclaimed dark drama series. Developed by Banijay Live Studio—a division of Banijay Live—in collaboration with VR specialists Univrse, the event is designed for groups of up to six participants aged 12 and older. Organizers have promised additional locations will be announced soon.

The immersive adventure draws its inspiration from the award-winning anthology series Black Mirror, known for its sharp social commentary and exploration of society’s uneasy relationship with technology. As part of Banijay Entertainment’s portfolio—now strengthened through a recent merger with All3Media—the series has captivated a global audience with over 3.3 million subscribers and 86 million social media views. It has also earned 29 major awards, including nine Emmys and four BAFTAs across seven seasons.

The company behind the experience explained, “Each episode of Black Mirror acts as a mirror reflecting our complex interactions with technology and how our digital decisions shape society. This first-of-its-kind immersive event challenges visitors to face similar dilemmas firsthand.”

Participants are invited to the exclusive launch of Phaethon’s showroom, a fictional tech giant unveiling its latest innovation: LifeAgent, an advanced robot designed to simplify lives, anticipate desires, and help users reach their full potential. Initially, the experience feels flawless and reassuring—almost utopian—until the complexities beneath the surface begin to unravel.

Banijay Live Studio introduced The Black Mirror Experience as its inaugural project aiming to convert popular Banijay Entertainment intellectual properties (IPs) into location-based entertainment offerings. François de Brugada, CEO of Banijay Live, highlighted the significance of this launch: “We’re expanding Banijay Entertainment’s influence beyond the screen into tangible, real-world adventures. This VR experience is a groundbreaking way to immerse fans in the unique cultural relevance of Black Mirror.”

Created by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror most recently released its seventh season on Netflix in April 2025. The series is produced by Broke & Bones, with Brooker, Jessica Rhoades, and Annabel Jones serving as executive producers. The brand’s rights are managed by Banijay Rights.
