The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress, who last released a studio album in 2020, shares that she wants to focus on her acting career in the future as she's 'tired.'

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez may be stepping away from making music and touring in the future. The singer/actress has seemingly hinted at her plans to retire from music as she wants to focus on her acting career.

The former Disney darling made an appearance in the latest episode of "SmartLess" podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes. During the chat, she said that her next album will likely be her last.

"I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun," the 31-year-old shared on the podcast. "But I was doing my TV show ['Wizards of Waverly Place'] at the same time and I just found it really fun so I just kept going."

"But the older I get, the more I'm kind of like, 'I would like to find something to just settle on,' " Selena, who is currently starring on Hulu's series "Only Murders in the Building", continued. "I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting."

She went on explaining, "I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else." She added, "I don't think I'm the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs."

When the hosts praised Selena's musical talents and said that she didn't have to pick either one, she replied, "You're right, but I am going to want to chill because I'm tired."

Selena began her career as a child actress, starring on the children's television series "Barney & Friends" (2002-2004). After rising to fame with her leading role on Disney Channel's sitcom "Wizards of Waverly Place", she released three studio albums as part of pop rock band Selena Gomez & the Scene.

The "Wolves" singer then began releasing her solo studio album in 2013 with "Stars Dance". It was followed up by "Revival" and her latest album "Rare", which was released in 2020. In December 2023, she told her fans that her new album would be coming "in 2 months."
