While sharing an update on her battle with cancer, which has spread to her bones, the former 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star also explains why she was not ready to find a new love.

AceShowbiz - Shannen Doherty has announced that she is ready to find a new love. Amid her battle with stage 4 cancer that has spread to her bones, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum shared her hope to meet somebody "soon."

The 52-year-old opened up about her dating life in a new interview published by PEOPLE on Wednesday, November 29. During the chat, which was conducted a few days before Thanksgiving, she said, "I was not ready at all before three weeks ago. And something happens."

Shannen explained, "There's always a trigger, just a moment that you have, somebody says something to you, your ex says one thing to you and you're like, 'Okay, yeah, I'm good. I'm good.' " She went on to note, "I have closure and I can move on in a really healthy way."

Though so, the former "Charmed" star admitted that she still has no idea what her next romance looks like. She stated, "I have a best friend, a male best friend who we joke that we're married. I don't know if it's that or if it's stumbling upon somebody and just feeling an instant connection. I'm open, and I wasn't [before]."

"I dont think I'm going to be single forever," Shanned further declared. "I have to love myself and reckon with the past, really, before I can move forward, and now I'm pretty sure I'll meet somebody, hopefully soon."

About her previous breakups, Shannen pointed out, "Listen, Elizabeth Taylor still has me beat as far as husbands and divorces, so I'm good." She continued, "I'm not there yet, so there's no reason to be negative about it. S**t happens."

During the same chat, Shannen also shared an update on her health and revealed to PEOPLE that her stage 4 cancer has spread to her bones. "I don't want to die. I think I would be afraid of death if I wasn't a good person, but I am... I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to die, like, ever," she stated.

"I'm not done with living," she further stressed. "I'm not done with loving, I'm not done with creating, I'm not done with, hopefully changing things for the better. I'm just not done. My greatest memory is yet to come."

Shannon was previously married to Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994 and Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003. In addition, she was in a marriage with Kurt Iswarienko for 11 years before filing for divorce in April 2023.
