AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift was reportedly among the artists who had been invited to perform at King Charles III's coronation. However, it was unveiled that the Grammy Award-winning artist turned down the over.
The revelation was made in Omid Scobie's new book, "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival". The royal reporter, however, did not detail the reason why the "All Too Well" hitmaker refused to perform at the May historic event.
It is safe to assume that the turndown might be due to Taylor's schedule. At the time, she was in the middle of her "Eras Tour" and was performing in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 6. Meanwhile, King Charles' coronation concert took place in the U.K. the following day, May 7.
In the months leading up to King Charles' coronation, reports surfaced that many other artists like Adele, Harry Styles, Robbie Williams and Spice Girls, declined offers to play for the British royal family. Those artists never commented on the speculation, but a representatvie for Elton John confirmed that the he was offered the gig and rejected it because of scheduling issues.
That aside, Taylor just shared exciting news to fans. The "Blank Space" songstress announced on social media that "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" is coming to streaming services.
"Hi! Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!" she declared on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). "Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including 'Wildest Dreams,' 'The Archer' and 'Long Live' will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.
