AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez has been spotted for the first time following the backlash over her Israel-Palestine post. The singer/actress stepped out for dinner in New York City on Friday, November 3 after she responded to the criticism.
The former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star was photographed as she was leaving Holiday Bar in the West Village. She appeared to be solo when she headed into her black car, with a man, presumably her bodyguard or her driver, opening the door for her.
The 31-year-old kept it stylish and warm during the outing as she sported a long black leather coat. It's unclear what she wore underneath the coat as she was pictured from behind, but she was seen sporting hoop earrings as her accessory and styling her raven hair into a simply bun while holding her phone.
Selena's solo night out comes a day after she responded to the backlash over her comments on the war in Middle East. "I'm taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I'm done," she wrote on her Story on Thursday, November 2. Doubling down on her neutral stance, she stated, "I do not support any of what's going on."
The 31-year-old former Disney darling previously got dragged online after breaking her silence on the ongoing conflict. "I've been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence and terror that's going on in the world," she wrote on her Story on October 30. "People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific."
Without taking sides, the "Only Murders in the Building" actress continued, "We need to protect ALL people, especially children and stop the violence for good. I'm sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can't stand by innocent people getting hurt. That's what makes me sick."
She stressed, "I wish I could change the world. But a post won't. Love, Selena." In a follow-up Story, Selena shared a picture of a young girl and wrote in the caption, "Having a sister, everyday has made me tragically sick. I would do anything for children and innocent lives."
