After getting dragged for not taking sides in the ongoing conflict in Middle East, the 'Only Murders in the Building' star posts and deletes a Story stating that she's 'deleting' her account.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez apparently caught wind of the backlash she received after breaking her silence on the Israel-Palestine war. After catching heat with her statement, the singer/actress has declared that she is "done" with Instagram.

"I'm taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I'm done," so the 31-year-old former Disney darling wrote on her Story on Thursday, November 2. She then doubled down on her neutral stance amid the ongoing conflict in Middle East, stating, "I do not support any of what's going on."

The statement, however, has since been removed from Selena's Story. And despite her claim that she's "deleting" her Instagram page which has more than 430 million followers, it's still accessible as of press time.

Selena made the bold statement three days after she expressed her heartbreak over the demise of some innocent lives amid the ongoing war. "I've been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence and terror that's going on in the world," she wrote on her Story on Monday. "People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific."

Without taking sides, the "Only Murders in the Building" actress continued, "We need to protect ALL people, especially children and stop the violence for good. I'm sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can't stand by innocent people getting hurt. That's what makes me sick."

She stressed, "I wish I could change the world. But a post won't. Love, Selena." In a follow-up Story, Selena shared a picture of a young girl and wrote in the caption, "Having a sister, everyday has made me tragically sick. I would do anything for children and innocent lives."

The "Wolves" songstress was soon criticized for not being more outspoken on the matter. "she's literally the most followed woman on ig but her post won't do anything um okay," one user commented. Another reacted to her excuse, " 'But a post won't' does she not know how big her influence is when she brings attention to this issue? This reeks." A third added. "being neutral while knowing all the facts is just like you are supporting the oppressers."
