Live Nation issues a statement after Egypt's Musicians' Syndicate claimed it is revoking a permit for the July 28 gig because it 'contradict[s] the identity of the Egyptian culture.'

AceShowbiz - Travis Scott (II) will still hold a concert at the Giza Pyramids to celebrate the launch of his new album, "Utopia". Despite getting pushback from Egypt's Musicians' Syndicate, its promoter Live Nation insisted that the show must go on.

"There have been no changes to Travis Scott's show in Egypt; any reports to the contrary are false," Live Nation declared. "We can't wait to celebrate 'Utopia' with you in Egypt!"

The statement arrived after Egypt's Musicians' Syndicate claimed it is revoking a permit for the July 28 gig because it "contradict[s] the identity of the Egyptian culture." The syndicate also noted that it's "committed to preserving the security and stability of our beloved homeland and rejects any actions that go against its societal values."

According to an English version of Egypt's government-owned newspaper, Al-Ahram, the group believes that Travis' concerts involve "strange rituals." The opposition is also reportedly due to the 2021 "mass casualty incident" at Astroworld that left 10 people dead.

Travis announced the event via Instagram on July 9. At that time, he penned, "UTOPIA LIVE AT THE PYRAMIDS. TICKETS AND UTOPIA PACK On TRAVISSCOTT.COM."

According to details from Travis' team, the upcoming record will feature five individual artworks, none of which have been revealed yet. The Live Nation event, which is dubbed a "once-in-a-lifetime gig," is being pitched as an "unforgettable show" that promises to envelop fans in a unique experience.

Travis once shared that he'd been working with new collaborators on his upcoming album in a bid to evolve his music. He told i-D magazine in 2021, "I never tell people this, and I'm probably going to keep it a secret still, but I'm working with some new people and I'm just trying to expand the sound."
