AceShowbiz - Rupert Grint would love to see a "Harry Potter" reboot. The actor, who is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the popular "Harry Potter" film franchise, shared in an interview that he hoped to see the Wizarding World heading to the small screen.

"I'd love to see 'Harry Potter' be adapted into a TV show," Rupert revealed to GQ Magazine U.K. The British actor believed that "it would really work. I'm sure the films will get remade, anyway."

He's also asked if he would actually star on the series. "I think there'd be a feeling of passing the baton," the "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" star shared, adding, "letting someone else play Ron."

"It's weird because I'm protective over him, I could relate to him so much, and then I was picked to bring him to life. That's hard to let go. But it would be nice to, as well," he continued.

While Rupert was less enthusiastic to reprise his role as Ron, Ralph Fiennes seemed to be excited to play evil Lord Voldemort once again. "Sure, of course," the actor told Variety in November 2022 when asked if he's interested in portraying He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named on a TV adaption. "No question about it."

News regarding a potential "Harry Potter" live-action series emerged back in January 2021. At the time, it was reported that a TV show based on J.K. Rowling's book series was in early development at HBO Max, though no writers or cast had been confirmed to be attached to the planned project. However, it was also noted that the franchise had "complicated rights issues" due to NBCUniversal's seven-year rights deal with Warner Bros.

If the TV project comes through, it will be the first "Harry Potter" TV series to ever be made. Meanwhile, the "Harry Potter" universe has been expanded on the big screen with "Fantastic Beast" spin-off prequel movies.
