AceShowbiz - Sam Smith gave fans another treat just hours after releasing their new album, "Gloria". On Friday, January 27, the non-binary singer unleashed "I'm Not Here To Make Friends" music video that shows them embracing their queerness.
The visuals opens with the 30-year-old arriving at a palace after taking a helicopter ride. Once they are inside the mansion, the Grammy winner performs alongside a group of dancers in several jaw-dropping outfits.
" 'Cause I'm not here to make friends/ No, I'm not here to make friends (Yeah)," the English musician sings on the Calvin Harris-produced track. " 'Cause I'm not here to make friends / I need a lover (I need a lover)."
Aside from "I'm Not Here To Make Friends", Sam's fourth studio album features previously-released singles like "Love Me More", "Unholy" ft. Kim Petras as well as "Gimme" ft. Jamaican musician Koffee and Canadian singer Jessie Reyez.
"It feels like emotional, sexual and spiritual liberation," Sam said of the album. "It was beautiful, with this album, to sing freely again. Oddly, it feels like my first-ever record. And it feels like a coming of age."
The project, which is a follow-up to 2020's "Love Goes", is led by Sam's hit "Unholy". About the tune, the "Too Good at Goodbyes" singer told Entertainment Tonight, "It's a wild song. It's a theatre show in one song, and I'm so proud of it."
"It's time for my villain era, I think. Time to get sexy," they further detailed. "I've had a transitional three years in my life. I turned 30, I think I know what I want to say now, I think I know who I am a bit more, and I'm ready to have fun."
