The mother and daughter in 'Akeelah and the Bee' reunite for an interview with Variety and Angela asks Keke to demonstrate the 'notable impressions' of her.

AceShowbiz - Angela Bassett has finally seen Keke Palmer's spot-on impersonation of her. The "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" star and the "Nope" actress have reunited for a new interview and the latter did a hilarious impression of the former in person.

The mother and daughter in 2006's "Akeelah and the Bee" reunited for an interview with Vanity Fair. In a video published on Friday, December 2, Angela asked Keke about her impression of her and invited her to demonstrate it.

"I've seen you online imitating me," Angela said with a laugh. The "9-1-1" star then praised Keke, "You do a great job." Responding to Angela, the 29-year-old actress said, "Thank you so much. It's one of my most notable impressions. Everybody's like, 'do Angela.' "

Keke went on sharing, "You know, it's so funny. Queen Latifah used to have me do it all, I used to only do it for her. I just recently started doing it, you know, online and everything." She further recalled, "But whenever we worked together, I did it for her one time and she'd be like, 'do Angela. do Angela.' "

"Okay, Keke, we're here together. You're finally here. I don't have to watch you online. I can actually see it right here before me," Angela asked Keke to do the infamous impersonation face-to-face. "I can't believe this. This is insane," Keke replied. Angela then encouraged her, "Don't be shy. You're not shy at all."

"Let me get myself together," Keke said as she got into character and demonstrated her impression of Angela's "amazing, incredible performance" on the 1992 TV miniseries "American Dream: The Michael Jackson Story". Angela even joined in, doing the line reading along with Keke.

Elsewhere during the sit-down, Angela said, "I guess we're twins," to which Keke excitedly replied, "I know, right?!" Angela continued, "You know people say we look alike anyway." In response, Keke gushed, "And I live for it. I'm so thankful because you're so gorgeous. So, it makes my life that people say that."

Earlier this week, Keke did another Angela impersonation in a funny "Saturday Night Live" promo. For the ad, the Illinois-born star reenacted Angela's acclaimed scene opposite co-star Danai Gurira in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".

Keke is scheduled to host the Saturday, December 3 episode of "Saturday Night Live". The "Hustlers" actress will be joined by SZA, who will make her second stop on the comedy skit as a musical guest.
