AceShowbiz - DaBaby may not be that desperate to sell out his shows after all. The Cleveland-born rapper has laughed off reports that his upcoming show sells buy one, get one free (BOGO) tickets due to low turnout.
The Grammy Award-winning artist made use of his Instagram Story to flex on Monday night, November 7 following his performance in Boston. Flashing his rings, he said with a chuckle, "They think I lost it, n***a." He added in the caption, "Me Boston just FLIPPED s**t."
Just hours before, DaBaby was clowned after it was revealed that his upcoming show in Birmingham, Alabama, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 15, is being priced at buy one, get one free. While it's a good deal for fans, it doesn't look good on the business as the promo suggests a low turnout at the venue. Making it worse, the venue isn't a big one, with a capacity of 1,300.
"A going out of business sale," one person quipped after seeing the report. Another weighed in, "A combo on tickets is crazy." A third suspected that DaBaby is struggling to attract audience because of his past controversy. "Talk about a fall from grace.. whew! Smh," the said person wrote.
Another commented, "dababy's fall off needs to be written in history books and studied by the youth." A fifth critic similarly said, "Dang I cant believe we watched an artist as big as da baby rise and fall so quickly."
However, some people in the industry have come to DaBaby's defense. Singer Tank claimed that it's a common practice since not "every market" is "a big market for every artist." The R&B star claimed, "Some cities i can do 5k and some cities i can only 1k.. I've had to work all kinds of magic to make sure the venue was full..lol. This is not stranger. This is touring.."
The Game added that despite the strategy, "He making money. The end."
