AceShowbiz - DaBaby has achieved his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart in nearly six years with his latest single, Pop Dat Thang, which tops the chart dated May 16, 2026. The track climbs from No. 2, benefiting from growth across all three key chart metrics and a notable remix featuring GloRilla, Yung Miami, and YK Niece.

Pop Dat Thang, released via SouthCoast/Interscope/Interscope Capitol, dethroned Don Toliver’s “E85,” which previously held the top spot for 11 consecutive weeks and now falls to No. 2.

This marks DaBaby’s second time reaching No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, following his 2020 hit “Rockstar,” featuring Roddy Ricch, which led the chart for nine weeks between June and August of that year.

During its week at the summit for the tracking period of May 1-7, 2026, Pop Dat Thang amassed 8 million official streams, 20.1 million in radio airplay audience impressions, and a minimal number of track sales in the United States, according to data from Luminate. These figures represent gains of 24% in streaming, 7% in radio audience, and 19% in track sales compared to the previous week. The streaming increase is largely attributed to the newly released remix, which features added verses from GloRilla, Yung Miami, and YK Niece. Although these artists contributed to the track’s upward movement, the original version still accounted for the majority of the song’s activity.

Beyond topping Hot Rap Songs, Pop Dat Thang also earns DaBaby his first No. 1 on the Rap Airplay chart, moving up from No. 2. This achievement gives DaBaby his fifth career No. 1 on the radio ranking. His previous radio chart-toppers include “Suge” (15 weeks in 2019), “BOP” (one week in 2020), “Rockstar” (10 weeks in 2020), and the featured contribution on Pop Smoke’s “For the Night” with Lil Baby (eight weeks in 2021).

On other charts, Pop Dat Thang rises from No. 6 to No. 5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and jumps from No. 43 to No. 26 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It also advances from No. 7 to No. 3 on Rhythmic Airplay and maintains its position at No. 3 for a third consecutive week on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. Thanks to strong radio support, the single climbs from No. 30 to No. 29 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart.

Pop Dat Thang is featured on DaBaby’s album Be More Grateful, which was released in January 2026. The album debuted at No. 6 on the Top Rap Albums chart, marking DaBaby’s fifth project to reach the top 10 on that chart.
