The 'G.I. Jane' actress has been tapped to star on 'Feud: Capote's Women' which will be an adaptation of Laurence Leamer's 'Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era'.

AceShowbiz - Demi Moore is returning to the small screen. If a new report is to be believed, the actress has been tapped to star on Ryan Murphy's "Feud: Capote's Women". Deadline is the first to report.

In the second season of the anthology series, the "Ghost" star is set to play a socialite named Ann Woodward. She's an American socialite, showgirl, model and radio actress who was accused of murdering her husband in 1955.

The sophomore season will be an adaptation of Laurence Leamer's bestselling book titled "Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era". It is set to tell the true story of how Truman Capote was friends with numerous members of New York high society until he published excerpts of his unfinished novel "Answered Prayers" which served as a tell-all about the city's elite.

The story included tales of infidelity, alcoholism as well as sexual assault. When the women recognized themselves in the very scandalous short story, they banished Capote from their inner circle. Gloria Vanderbilt, whose story was apparently included in the unfinished book, allegedly declared, "The next time I see Truman Capote, I am going to spit in his face." Oscar nominee Gus Van Sant is set to direct all eight episodes.

In addition to Demi, the upcoming installment of the show stars Tom Hollander as Truman. Other cast members include Calista Flockhart, Diane Lane, Naomi Watts and Chloe Sevigny.

The project will be Demi's first TV return after a three-episode appearance on Peacock's "Brave New World" in 2020. Prior to that, the "G.I. Jane" actress guest-starred on "Empire" in 2017 and 2018. She additionally lent her voice on HBO's "Animals".

Filming for "Feud: Capote's Women" is scheduled to start in New York this fall. Meanwhile, FX has yet to announce the premiere date for the series.
