During the SDCC on Saturday, July 23, Marvel also announced exciting news regarding Charlie Cox's return as Matt Murdock/Daredevil on Disney+'s new Daredevil series.

AceShowbiz - Among the exciting news delivered during Marvel's panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23 was the one regarding "Secret Invasion". During the panel, Marvel offered fans the first look at the Samuel L. Jackson-starring series which seemingly will be the franchise's most gritty show so far.

The exclusive trailer opens with Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill bringing Nick Fury back to Earth. As there seems to be an issue, Nick looks visibly stressed out. Apparently, the stress comes from the shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

While attempting to deal with that, Nick is seen having an intense conversation with Ben Mendelsohn's Talos, a Skrull he helped in "Captain Marvel". "You've got to be very careful Fury," the human version of Talos, who teams up with Fury to stop the Skrull invasion, warns him.

Later, the trailer features him going for a meeting with Kingsley Ben-Adir's character, who seemingly is the villain of the show. The character is backed by a bunch of goons who suddenly shape-shift into versions of Ben-Adir's character.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Nick Fury is seen meeting with Olivia Colman's character, who says, "You're in no shape for this, Fury." Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke's character is seen holding a gun while looking for someone.

Also starring on the show are Rege-Jean Page, Christopher McDonald and Don Cheadle. Martin Freeman will also make an appearance as Everett K. Ross, his character from "Black Panther". "Secret Invasion" will hit Disney+ in spring 2023, marking the first Marvel Studios Original series of Phase Five.

"Secret Invasion" aside, other exciting news from the Saturday panel was the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil on a new Daredevil series for Disney+. Titled "Daredevil: Born Again", the upcoming show will also star Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin.

Prior to this, Cox played the superhero on Netflix's "Daredevil". The show ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2018. Fans quickly demanded the streaming giant to revive the show following its cancellation.

Alongside "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", "Secret Invasion" and "The Marvels" and more, "Daredevil: Born Again" is part of Marvel's Phase Five. It is set to be released in spring 2024.
