AceShowbiz - The 2022 BET Awards took place on Sunday, June 26 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. At the annual event, stars, including Lizzo, Taraji P. Henson and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, hit the red carpet while bringing their highest fashion.
Taraji, who is tapped to host this year's award-giving event, looked stunning in a sparkling number from Tom Ford that featured a chain in the neckline. The "Empire" actress opted for a neat hairstyle for the night.
This will be the second time for Taraji to host the event. "I am honored to return as the host of the BET Awards and share the stage with so many powerful and prolific artists: you can even say it is the 'empire' of Black Excellence," she said in a statement ahead of the show. "I can't wait to celebrate Black music, entertainment, and culture with our viewers on what will be one unforgettable night."
Also looking glamorous was Lizzo. The "Truth Hurts" hitmaker turned heads in a navy plunging dress from Gucci. The ensemble featured a high slit and beautiful ruffles. Lizzo paired the look with a pair of black wedges.
Halle Bailey and Chloe Bailey, meanwhile, showed some skin. Chloe donned a lengthy black dress with an artistic, strapless bodice. The fabric swirled and climbed up the star's chest and shoulders. As for Halle, she and her boyfriend DDG made their red carpet debut as a couple at the event.
They arrived hand in hand with the singer wearing a black Monot set featuring a plunging neckline and hip cutouts. Her handsome companion looked dapper in a matching Prada outfit and silver chain necklaces.
NeNe Leakes and her boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh were also among those who hit the red carpet. Dressing to the nines, the pair arrived in a couple look in black outfits. French Montana, meanwhile, brought colors to the red carpet as he donned a colorful tie-dye shirt which he paired with burgundy pants.
The 2022 BET Awards is currently underway. Lizzo kicked off the show with a shining performance of her latest hit, "About Damn Time".
