AceShowbiz - "Star Trek: Picard" treats fans to the official trailer for season 2 of the highly-anticipated series. Released on Friday, January 21, the new video offered fans the first look at Whoopi Goldberg reprising her "Star Trek: The Next Generation" character, Guinan.

In the two-minute trailer, the legendary Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew are seen going on a bold and exciting new journey to the past. He looks psyched as he unexpectedly meets Q (John de Lancie).

"Well, hello my friend," Q greets Picard. "What is this? What have you done?" Picard asks, to which Q responds, "Welcome to the road not taken."

Amid the confusion, Picard remembers someone who may be able to explain things to him. That's when he reunites with Goldberg's Guinan. "Your answers are not in the stars. And they never have been," Guinan tells him.

As Guinan and Picard are catching up over a cup of earl grey tea, she says, "I believe you have one final frontier yet to come."

On the upcoming season, Picard is required to recruit friends both old and new to confront the perils of 21st century Earth in a desperate race against time to save the galaxy's future -- and face the ultimate tria from one of his greatest foes.

Joining Stewart on "Star Trek: Picard" are Alison Pill, Jei Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Orla Brady, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Brent Spiner. Annie Wersching, Goldberg and de Lancie are special guest stars in the upcoming season. Wersching will be returning as the Borg Queen.

Season 2 of "Star Trek: Picard" hits Paramount+ on Thursday, March 3rd, while its season 3 is currently filming.
