Following the release of 'Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson', the 'Suit and Tie' crooner reportedly doesn't put 'anything out any time soon' as he tries to avoid the backlash.

AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake is apparently avoiding the heat. The "Can't Stop the Feeling" hitmaker reportedly put his new music on hold following Janet Jackson's documentary about "nipplegate" scandal as it may "harm sales."

A source spilled to The Sun on Thursday, January 6, "To say that Justin and his team are worried about the documentary is an understatement." The so-called inside source added, "There was a major backlash against him last year after the 'Framing Britney Spears' documentary was released and he was criticized for how he treated [Britney Spears] when they split up in 2002."

"Now they are bracing for details about the Super Bowl story, which weren't previously known, to come out," the insider elaborated. The informant went on saying, "The pencilled-in dates for his next release have been pushed back because it could certainly harm sales," adding that the "Friends With Benefits" actor "has quietly been working on music but there is no chance he will be putting anything out any time soon with this hanging over his head."

Justin found himself under fire again after Janet's documentary "Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson" was premiered. After the docuseries that reexamined what went wrong during the infamous 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show scandal were released last November, many social media critics blasted Justin.

"This is why I have never f**ked with Justin Timberlake. He's a culture vulture and left my good sis Janet out on a limb. So happy Ms. Jackson's truth will finally be told #JusticeForJanet," wrote one Twitter user. "Love that the common denominator in both the Janet and Britney NYT docs is Justin in the background being a lecher," another chimed in. A separate critic said that Justin "capitalized Janet Jackson's misfortune."

In February last year, Justin apologized for how he had treated Britney and Janet, following widespread criticism on social media. At the time, the "Suit & Tie" crooner said he was sorry to the two women for "contributing to the problem of misogyny."

"I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right," Justin stated. "I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed."
