After contracting the coronavirus, the 'Wanna Be That Song' singer announces that he has to reschedule his shows at the Chicago Theater on his 'Glow Live' tour.

AceShowbiz - Brett Eldredge is the latest celebrity who has tested positive for breakthrough COVID-19. The "Wanna Be That Song" crooner is forced to cancel his upcoming shows in Chicago after he caught the coronavirus.

Making use of his Instagram account on Thursday, December 16, the country music star revealed via Instagram that his COVID test result came back positive. After testing positive for the virus, he said that he had to reschedule a pair of concerts he was scheduled to play at the Chicago Theater on Friday, December 17 and Saturday, December 18 on his "Glow Live" tour.

"Chicago, so incredibly sad to not get to play in Chicago this weekend," Brett wrote along with a video of him explaining his current condition. The 35-year-old musician added, "But I hope to see you December 29th and 30th!"

In the clip, Brett explained that he had been feeling like he had "a cold or something the last few days." After he checked himself, the test result came back positive for COVID. "I've been so excited about playing this show, and I know a lot of you have been excited to go to it," the "Mean to Me" singer continued. "[It] breaks my heart."

Brett then reassured fans that the shows have been rescheduled to later this month. He also said that he would be "healing up" at home and notified fans of a few upcoming TV appearances he recently taped.

In the comment section, many were quick to send him wishes for his speedy recovery. Brothers Osborne wrote, "So sorry to hear brother. Hope it's a quick recovery for ya." In the meantime, Morgan Evans added, "That is the worst!!! Rest up legend!!!"

"Sending love your way + hope you're feeling better, soon! Chicago will always show up for you, no matter the date [smiling emoji]," one fan wrote. Another person chimed in, "Oh Brett, I'm so sorry. Sending well wishes for you to get better. Maybe it won't last super long since your [sic] vaccinated. Thoughts and prayers."

Indeed, Brett was vaccinated against the virus. On April 17, he posted on his Instagram page a black-and-white photo of himself getting the shot. "Getting vaccinated is rock and roll. Thanks so much to all the health care workers and everyone out there helping us all through this wild ride! One step closer to the staggggge...where should we come play first?" he captioned his post.
