Travis Scott Faces Over 100 Lawsuits Following Astroworld Festival Tragedy

According to New York Post, the rapper and Live Nation were two of the main parties being targeted in 108 lawsuits. The number is likely to continue growing.

Some other also named Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, in their lawsuit as he was on stage performing with the Houston artist. "The deadly crowd surge and its aftermath unfolded right in front of Webster and Graham. Nonetheless, they continued their performance while medical personnel struggled to reach the numerous unconscious and injured concertgoers," the lawsuit from Niaara Goods, who is suing for $1 million, said.

Also facing lawsuit in the wake of the incident are Scott’s record company, Cactus Jack Records, a Houston production company called Scoremore LLC, producer Sasha Stone Guttfreund, and the stadium's management company, ASM Global, as well as the owner, Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation.

New York Post also reported that a Northbridge, California-based firm called Contemporary Services Corp., known as "the leader in crowd management," is also facing heat in some of the suits. Authorities stated that there were also 528 Houston PD officers at the event, which had the estimated 50,000 festival attendees. It also had 755 private security personnel brought on by Live Nation.

Most of the lawsuits are about them demanding money for damages after being squished or trampled in the crowd. Some others, meanwhile, are from women who alleged that they were sexually assaulted during the crowd surge.

Astroworld Festival killed ten people. Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old boy died from his injuries after being trampled during the chaos at the Houston, Texas concert. Calling it "heartbreaking," the family continued, "This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra's death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer."
